About every three or four weeks we will not engage in stations in order to focus on a project or a larger writing assignment, as well as give us some time to wrap up some unfinished activities. We may work in groups for one or two assignments this week, but most of our time will be spent in completing the painted world map project.
Preliminary checklist for the week:
Guiding question: What is my culture and how does it relate to other cultures? (Journal)
1. Paint the World Map Project
2. Dream cards activity from dream journal.
3. New seating chart.
4. Meet individually with students about progress so far into school year.
5. Finish reading poems in Core 2.
6. Details activity - group and class wide game (debate sequence)
7. Mayan presentations - the evolution of maize, social structure, calendar, period of civilization, art of Mesoamerica (from the de Young collection).
8. Short Story #1
9. Setup Social pyramid activity
