Today almost all students who took the Geography Test did very well.
Several assignments have been posted in LA and a couple more will be posted in both LA and SS this weekend.
It is still early to find established patterns needed to be a good predictor of overall performance. It has been my experience in my 17 years as a teacher that a student's performance generally average out to the levels they are used to attaining over time. Obviously, students are adjusting to a new work load and work requirements that each teacher requires in the seventh grade. After this adjustment, as the full weekly schedule develops in the next three weeks, it will be easier to see the patterns necessary to assess a students' performance.
Many students are doing very well. Some are still revving up. A few others are just getting it together. A couple of students here and there are starting to demonstrate difficulties turning in work on time, or studying for a quiz or test. At the beginning of the year, the students in the last two categories will receive considerable attention in class as well as followup contacts with parents.
If you feel that you can do better, or need some help in doing better in class, then please send me an email. I am looking forward to helping students that really need help to get on track, as a highest priority followed by students who need a good nudge to do their best.
Have a great weekend. See you Tuesday,
- Mr. R
